Shades’ solution to Phuket Gazette’s sunny office atrium
When Phuket Gazette needed shade for their atrium office at their new building in Phuket, SHADES were there to come up with an “outside the box” solution.
6-star sala for 6-star residence!
Shades (Thailand) Co., Ltd recently designed, manufactured and installed this patio sala for one of Phuket’s most stunning villas.

Tensioned architectural fabric, Thailand teak and polished 316 grade stainless steel - a beautiful combination!
The structure was purpose-designed with the villa owner’s major objectives in mind: to provide dining shade for up to 10 guests, particularly during low morning sun angles, to take advantange of the stunning view without obstructing it from the elevated main villa, and to blend with the Thai-inspired architecture of the villa complex. We were fortunate in the design process to be able to have our recommended materials agreed to by the client – weldable PVDF architectural fabric Verseidag Duraskin 4017 , beautiful Thailand teak, and polished 316 grade stainless steel frame and membrane fittings.
Renovating….? Check out how a new awning from Shades totally changed this villa at Phuket
If your villa overlooks Phuket’s Patong Bay. like Shades’ client’s villa on Andaman Hill does, the most “lived-in” area of the house wii be the timber-decked patio which surrounds two sides.
Shades was asked to design and install a modern, stylish awning over the renovated decking which would enhance the outdoor living potential of the villa and take advantage of the magificent views.
