HDPE shade cloth shade structure
The fabric is high density polyethylene (HDPE) knitted shade cloth with marine grade stainless steel perimeter cables and tensioning fittings.
The Banyan Resort, one of Hua Hin’s largest and most impressive developments, recently provided shade and rain protection for restaurant patrons with two matching tensioned fabric structures from Shades.

The beautiful JW Marriott Resort at Mai Khao, Phuket had a shade “challenge” at the pool bar, where guests gather for a meal or drink while relaxing around the magnificent beach view swimming pool. However, some of the favourite tables beneath the palms and frangipanis lacked sufficient shade during the hot part of the day, and Shades was called in to solve the problem .
Our challenge was to provide a shade solution which complemented the tropical ambience of the setting with a design which neither cluttered the area with supporting structures nor relied on the existing buildings, which are scheduled for refurbishment in the future.

Headstart International School moved to a new campus in central Phuket this year. The buildings and grounds are being developed as a first class teaching venue, and include a great 25 x 12 metre toddlers’ playground.

The design called for a shaded area over the playground with a roof high enough to clear the installed playground equipment and provide an pleasant “airy” feeling for the kids using the playground.
